Avery Dennison to Help Build Elementary School in Rural China
Donation to Project Hope will provide education to children in poverty-stricken areas
BEIJING, March 16, 2010 - Avery Dennison, a global leader in labeling branding solutions and information management, held a signing ceremony today to commemorate its donation of USD60,000 (approximately RMB 402,000) to Project Hope, a Chinese public service project organized by the China Youth Development Foundation.

Avery Dennison’s donation will be used to build an elementary school in rural China as part of Project Hope’s goal of establishing grant-in-aid programs in poverty-stricken areas to ensure that all Chinese children have access to education. The company had previously also donated over 2 million RMB in disaster relief funds to Sichuan Earthquake victims.

In China, Avery Dennison has developed various philanthropic initiatives and partnerships. In 2006, Avery Dennison became the first multinational corporation to offer a corporate provident fund in China The Company also has established the Avery Dennison Foundation InvEnt “Spirit of Innovation” Scholarship Program to nurture local talent, creativity and entrepreneurship. This year’s InvEnt “Spirit of Innovation” Scholarship Program recipients will be announced on 11 June 2010, when outstanding students from four Chinese universities will be honored at the annual award ceremony.
